1. Januar 2010
Vorstandswechsel bei der AquaOrbis AG
Wachwechsel an der Spitze der AquaOrbis AG: Peter Gründken übernimmt zum 1. Januar 2010 die Vorstandsfunktion von Gunther Frehsee, der mit dem Auslaufen seines Vertrages in den Ruhestand tritt.
„Die zweijährige Aufbauarbeit bei der AquaOrbis war geprägt durch viele Herausforderungen und wichtige Meilensteine, die wir erreicht haben“, unterstreicht Gunther Frehsee. „Ich werde auch weiterhin dem Unternehmen verbunden bleiben und die künftige Entwicklung mit sehr großem Interesse verfolgen. Nach weit über 30 Jahren im Beruf, in unterschiedlichen Management-Positionen und in verschiedenen Unternehmen, habe ich mich jedoch entschlossen, künftig mehr Zeit meiner Familie und meinen privaten Interessen zu widmen.“
Der Aufsichtsrat der AquaOrbis AG respektiert die Entscheidung und dankte dem 60-jährigen für seine Leistungen in den vergangenen Jahren. Im Rahmen eines sorgfältigen Entscheidungsprozesses wählte das Gremium mit Peter Gründken einen gleichfalls sehr erfahrenen Manager zum neuen Vorstand des Unternehmens.
Der 52-jährige verfügt nicht nur über langjährige Berufserfahrung im Lebensmittelhandel (im Konzernverbund ebenso wie im Facheinzelhandel), sondern war auch in der Lebensmittelindustrie in Führungspositionen als Vorstand und Geschäftsführer tätig. Zuletzt, bis Ende 2009, zeichnete er als Projektleiter und Interimsmanager einer börsennotierten Aktiengesellschaft verantwortlich.
„Da es sich bei der AquaOrbis AG um ein noch junges Unternehmen handelt, reizt es mich um so mehr, hier sowohl strategisch als auch operativ wichtige Entscheidungen für die nächsten Jahre mit gestalten zu können“, unterstreicht Peter Gründken. „Auf Grund meiner Erfahrungen in der Lebensmittelindustrie und im Handel werde ich meine Kenntnisse in den Bereichen Vertrieb und Marketing, Produktentwicklung, Qualitätsmanagement, Organisationsentwicklung und strategische Entwicklung zum Nutzen des AquaOrbis einbringen.“
Peter Gründken ist verheiratet und Vater von vier Kindern.

Spiegel TV reported from Jessen
"Fish for everyone! Aquaculture is the future." This was the title of the Spiegel TV report that featured a comprehensive story about the prominent, worldwide aquaculture projects - and the AquaOrbis establishment in Jessen was one among them. The TV-crew made multiple visits to the site for research and above all to form their own opinion about the success story of the establishment and about caviar production.
The following lines speak for themselves on the Spiegel TV homepage:
"The oceans are overfished; the yield of the wildlife reserves has reached a level of stagnation. The worldwide fish consumption still increases steadily: Gratitude to the breeding. As of today, already about one third of the worldwide consumed fish comes from aquacultures. The trend: is rising."

"Fish stocks" count as investments of the future. That is because the natural reserves will not be sufficient to cover the demand for fresh fish, let alone the basic demand. The current issue of "3sat Börse" has a report on this topic.

Official inauguration of the establishment in Jessen
The aquaculture establishment in Jessen is officially in production and has been inaugurated. Read all the details in our press release (pdf, approx. 200 KB).

Minister praises high quality of the Baerial caviar
Dr. Karl-Heinz Daehre, the infrastructure minister of Saxony-Anhalt was impressed after his vist to the aquaculture establishment in Jessen. Through a tour around the establishment, which would be open in a few weeks, he was able to get an impression and form a positive opinion about the modern form of aquaculture, which will be established in Jessen.
The minister insisted on getting "hands on" experience with the young sturgeons and was interested in tasting premium caviar and smoked sturgeon produced by aquaculture. His opinion: The quality is excellent! It is quite obvious that the minister relished the caviar.
The infrastructure minister promised his full support for the future expansions of the establishment in Jessen to promote this economically attractive future of this industry .

Rotary Club visits Jessen
VIPs visit the aquaculture establishment in Jessen: The Rotary club from Herzberg/Elster paid a visit to our new establishment on 18th May 2008. After a comprehensive tour of the establishment as well as a sampling of the exquisite caviar and sturgeon specialties the visitors were thoroughly impressed by the possibilities provided by the modern aquaculture.
